Beschreibung

Das Theater ist nur teilweise ausgegraben. Seine Anfänge werden auf das späte 4.-frühe 3. Jh. v.Chr. datiert. Es ist gegen einen Hang gebaut. Die cavea ist in einen unteren und einen oberen Rang geteilt. Die ima cavea gliedert sich in 6 kerkides, die mittleren Sitzstufen sind in den Fels gearbeitet. In römischer Zeit wurde die orchestra in eine kolymbethra für Wasserspiele und Naumachien umgebaut.

Das Theater wurde zunächst von G. Grimm (Universität Trier) und in der Folge durch ein Team der Universität Sidney ausgegraben.
